PA Mayor Resigns Less Than A Year Into Second Term
A Pennsylvania mayor announced she is stepping down less than a year after winning reelection, saying the decision came after "much prayer, reflection, and careful consideration."
Steelton Mayor Ciera Dent announced Friday, July 17, that she will resign effective Monday, Aug. 17, according to a message she shared with borough residents.
Dent, 39, did not give a specific reason for her resignation.

June Fete Helps Fund Abington Hospital Trauma Center Expansion
A longtime Abington family tradition is helping support a major upgrade to Jefferson Abington Hospital’s newly renamed Goodman Emergency Trauma Center.
The annual June Fete featured rides, carnival games, live entertainment, food trucks, fireworks, a Horse and Pony Show, jugglers, trampoline artists, and more, according to Jefferson Health.
The event, hosted by the Abington Health Foundation Women’s Board, has been held for more than 100 years and draws thousands of visitors each year.
