A Pennsylvania woman whose 5-year-old adoptive son suffered more than 100 injuries, including a catastrophic brain injury, has been sentenced to decades in prison for his murder, authorities announced on Thursday, Oct. 22.
Lauren Maloberti, 37, of Delmont, was sentenced to 31½ to 63 years in state prison by Westmoreland County Common Pleas Judge Scott Mears, according to District Attorney Nicole Ziccarelli.

A Fall River woman made millions arranging fake marriages for immigrants seeking legal status, federal prosecutors allege.
Jennifer Gonzalez, 43, ran the operation for more than a decade, charging $38,000 to $40,000 per marriage, the US Attorney for the District of Massachusetts announced Wednesday. Investigators say she earned more than $100,000 a year during the 10-year scheme.
