A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed when a tractor-trailer driver backed out of a private driveway and into his path, leading to a homicide-by-vehicle charge, Pennsylvania State Police and court records show
Ethan F. Small, of Gardners, was riding a 2023 Suzuki GXR-R750 east on Walnut Bottom Road in Penn Township when the crash happened near 1608 Walnut Bottom Road in Cumberland County at 7:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, according to PSP Carlisle.

A woman shot to death inside a Northampton County home has been identified as 27-year-old Atirah N. Steed, while another woman remains jailed without bail on homicide charges, authorities announced Monday, Aug. 24.
Steed died from multiple gunshot wounds, an autopsy completed Monday at the Lehigh County Coroner's Office and Forensic Center determined. Her death was ruled a homicide, Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said.

Rocks, Logs Thrown At Cars On US 30; 17 Vehicles Hit, 2 Hurt: PA State Police
Two boys threw large rocks, sticks, and logs onto the US 30 Bypass damaging at least 17 vehicles and injuring two people, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Monday, Aug. 24.
The boys threw the debris onto the highway just east of Airport Road in Valley Township, Chester County during the evening hours of Wednesday, Aug. 19, and Friday, Aug. 21, according to state police.
Troopers have identified 17 vehicles that were damaged after being struck by the debris, police said. Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries when their vehicle was hit.
