Ashley Marie Lewis died unexpectedly on Monday, Aug. 3, leaving behind her 11-year-old son, Karter, who is now being cared for by his grandmother, Angela Fernandez.

City of Poughkeepsie Common Councilmember Christopher A. Grant, 38, was arraigned on a charge of attempted second-degree assault, the Dutchess County District Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
The charge stems from an alleged assault in the City of Poughkeepsie on the afternoon of Aug. 2, 2025, when Grant was 37 years old.

A Bergen County bakery is closing its doors after 14 years, with its owners calling the decision “incredibly difficult.”
Veriella’s Bakery, located on Hackensack Street in Carlstadt, will serve customers for the final time on Wednesday, Sept. 9, the family announced.
