Brewster Man, 34, Faces Drug, Firearm Charges

BREWSTER, N.Y. -- New York State Police charged a Brewster man with criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of a controlled substance on Friday, according to officials.

Francesco D. Oliveri, 34, was pulled over by troopers for an alleged traffic violation on Route 6 in Southeast. During the traffic stop, authorities reportedly discovered Oliveri possessed a controlled substance without a prescription. He also was allegedly in possession of  a Kel-Tec semi-automatic handgun without a pistol permit, police said. 

Oliveri is scheduled to appear in Southeast Court on March 5, police said.
