Michael Edward Cunningham, 67, was arrested after he allegedly befriended the family of the victim and gained their trust over time. The family eventually allowed Cunningham to babysit. During that time, Cunningham allegedly engaged in sexual contact with the victim at least three times in the last year, according to the Sheriff's Department. The gender of the child was not disclosed.
Investigators also seized Cunnigham's computers, cameras and other electronic equipment for forensic investigation, authorities said.
Cunningham was charged and held at Putnam County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 cash bail, police officials said.
