Police said that Kathryn Comperatore, 41, drove off Canopus Hollow Road early Sunday and into an earthen embankment.

Sheriff’s deputies responding to the scene administered a sobriety test and determined that Comperatore was intoxicated, authorities said.

She was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors, police said.

Comperatore was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and released pending a Jan. 16 appearance in Putnam Valley Justice Court.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, she could face up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine, police said.
