A 43-year-old woman has been sent to jail without bail after being apprehended in connection with a home invasion that occurred in broad daylight late October in Northern Westchester.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:45 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 23, at a home on Pond Hill Road in Chappaqua, when the suspect entered an occupied home with what appeared to be a firearm and forcibly stole property, New Castle Police said.

The woman, Mirabai Sheridan of 500 W. 235th Street in the Bronx, NY, was charged with first-degree robbery, a Class B felony. She was arraigned in the Town of New Castle Justice Court on Wednesday, Nov. 14.

The charges are a result of an investigation conducted by the New Castle Police Department with the assistance of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, the Westchester County Department of Public Safety and the Harrison Police Department.

This investigation is continuing and further charges may be filed.

Sheridan was remanded without bail to the Westchester County Jail and is scheduled to return to the Town of New Castle Justice Court on Dec. 6.
