Gas Leak Knocks Out Power To Homes In Northern Westchester

A gas leak has closed down a Northern Westchester road and left nearly 100 Con Edison customers without power in Croton-on-Hudson.

The underground leak was reported on Amber Drive at approximately 8:20 a.m. on Monday morning, police said. First responders were dispatched near the intersection of Amber Drive and Scenic Drive at approximately 8:45 a.m.

As of 10:10 a.m. on Monday morning, 96 Con Ed customers in Croton-on-Hudson were still reporting outages. The utility company said that they are currently reassessing the condition of the leak, though complete restoration is expected no later than 11:30 a.m. Amber Drive remains shut down as crews continue to investigate the cause of the leak and make repairs in the area.
