Meagher was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, a felony on Tuesday afternoon, according to Mahopac News.

In a statement, chamber officials said they uncovered evidence of larceny, fraud and embezzlement. Meagher used her credit card to buy jewelery, dresses, handbags and Ivanka Trump shoes, fabricating invoices from Amazon, the chamber said.

“Thanks to the due diligence of our volunteers safeguarding our Chamber members' money, we uncovered the scheme,” the Chamber said. “It is disheartening that she has stolen from the more than 390 Chamber members and shattered the trust of our community.”

Meagher was terminated Tuesday morning. She appeared in court Tuesday evening and was issued an appearance ticket to appear in Carmel Town Court at a later date, according to Mahopac News.

Meagher has been on the Brewster Village Board since Dec. 2015. She also works as an International and Domestic Manager at the Brewster Shipping Center, according to her LinkedIn Page.
