Heather G. Licari, 38, is alleged to have entered the store at 80 Independent Way about 1:33 p.m. on Feb. 19, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

Once inside, Licari took several items off the shelves, hid them in a bag and then attempted to return them as though she had purchased them earlier, police allege.

After returning the items she's alleged to have taken, Licari continued shopping, police allege, who said she then tried to check out in a self-check-out lane.

While checking out, Licari is alleged to have tried to pocket another item in an attempt to steal it, according to police.

Licari was arrested at the scene and later released without bail, according to police. She is to appear in Southeast Town Court at a later date to answer to a misdemeanor count of petty larceny.
