Saugerties Man Charged With Having Sexual Contact With Child 15 Years Ago

SAUGERTIES, N.Y. -- New York State Police in Kingston have arrested Albert B. Ames, 77 of Saugerties, on a charge of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, a class B felony.

An investigation determined that Ames had sexual contact with a child less than 11 years old, police said. The alleged abuse which was recently reported, occurred about 15 years ago at his residence in Saugerties, according to police.

Ames was arraigned in Saugerties Town Court and released on $5,000 cash bail to appear at a later date.
