Sex Offender Reports Move To Patterson

A registered sex offender who was convicted of sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl has reported a move in the area.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert to Putnam County residents regarding the residency of 62-year-old Anthony Marino, who has moved to a residence on Newburgh Road in Patterson.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Marino as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

Possible sexual abuse was reported to state police in August last year. involving Marino and a child less than 13 years of age. An investigation determined that Marino had engaged in sexual conduct with a child multiple times in the town of Patterson, police said.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Marino was arrested in February and convicted of sexual misconduct in October. Marino was sentenced to six years probation and fined $100. He is now under the jurisdiction of Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
