District Attorney Race Tops Putnam County Elections

PUTNAM COUNTY, N.Y. -- Voters in Putnam County head to the polls on Election Day with several municipal and countywide races to choose from.

Topping the ballot is the race for Putnam County District Attorney between two-term incumbent Adam Levy and challenger Bob Tendy.

Tendy is running on the Republican line after defeating Levy in a September primary. Levy will be on the Conservative, Reform, and Independence lines.

The campaign has been marked by allegations on both sides and attempts by Levy to get Tendy thrown off the ballot. Levy's is the son of Judith Sheindlin, TV's "Judge Judy."

The Putnam County Board of Legislators will see two contested elections. In District 1, incumbent Republican Barbara Scuccimarra faces Democrat challenger Lithgow Osbourne. In District 7, incumbent Republican Joseph Costellano faces Democrat challenger John Riley.

Incumbent Ginny Nacerino is running unopposed in District 4.

In Kent, Supervisor Maureen Fleming, a Democrat, faces Dennis Illuminate, who is running on the Conservative and Reform lines. Democrats Dale Cusack and Nancy Corabella are running for two seats on the town board against Scott Chin and Jamie McGlasson.

In Patterson, Democrat Andrew Falk faces Republican Richard Williams, Sr. for Supervisor. In Philipstown, Democrats Nancy Montgomery and Robert Flaherty are running for two seats on the town board against Republican Craig Watters.

In Putnam Valley, Democrat Sam Oliverio faces Republican Jacqueline Annabi for supervisor. Republicans Louis Luongo and Steven Mackay face Democrat Cathy Hanson for two seats on the town board.

In Southeast, Democrats Lynne Eckardt and John Lord face Republicans Edwin Alvarez and Paul Jonke for two seats on the town board. In Brewster, Republicans Erin Meagher and Teresa Stockburger face Christine Piccini and George J. Gaspar who are running on the Best For Brewster line.
