Former Somers Supervisor Endorses Kevin Byrne For Assembly

SOMERS, N.Y. -- Kevin Byrne was endorsed Tuesday to become the Republican candidate for the 94th Assembly District by former Town of Somers Supervisor Mary Beth Murphy, who called him “a man of integrity and honor who will fight against Albany’s corrupt politics.”

“Having served as town supervisor for over a decade and a half, I understand what’s important to the people who call our district home,” said Murphy, who served eight terms as town supervisor from 1998-2013. "Our quality of life is being eroded steadily by crushing taxes, ridiculous regulations, and Albany’s corruption and inefficiency. Kevin Byrne will do his utmost every day to lift burdens and make our state government accountable and effective."

"Kevin knows every town in this Assembly district because he’s been involved in them —not just last month, not just last year — but for years and years," Murphy said. "Many who have been involved in public service and good causes in Yorktown, in Somers, and throughout Putnam County have seen Kevin, have worked with him and have gotten to know him." Murphy emphasized that “We need a representative who’s one of us, who’s going to hit the ground running and stand up for the principles we believe in—and for the people of Somers, and Yorktown, and Putnam county and all New Yorkers."

“Kevin is truly our very best candidate, and I'm proud to do all I can to help him win — starting with urging all my fellow Republicans to get on board," she said.
