In a news release from the Putnam Democratic Committee, Fleming said she has the support of county residents from every political stripe, while calling herself a fiscal conservative and strong collaborative leader.

Taxes have not risen during Fleming's four years as Kent town supervisor.

“I’ve shown that when we work hard together, we get the job done. I want to bring that kind of cooperation and respect back to County government,” Fleming said.

Odell, n a news release, welcomed Fleming into the race and said she looks forward to a substantive campaign on the issues.

The Putnam County tax bill is the lowest in New York state, Odell said, and the county has been able to reduce past debts.

Odell, grand marshal of the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Mahopac defeated Alan Schneider in 2011 and former county legislator Sam Oliverio in 2014. Oliverio is now Putnam Valley supervisor.
