The Democratic congressman, a Cold Spring resident is leading his Republican challenger, Phil Oliva, a Somers resident 51 percent to 41 percent, 133,977 votes to 108,444 votes, according to unofficial vote totals from the New York State Board of Elections.
In Westchester, Maloney leads 7,822 votes to 4803 votes, in Putnam, Oliva won 21,031 to 19,827 votes, in Dutchess, Maloney won 36,438 votes to 28,054 votes.
The 18th congressional district includes Putnam County, southern Dutchess County, parts of northern Westchester and Orange County.
