CARMEL, N.Y. -- Carmel Councilwoman Suzi McDonough is once again bucking the Republican establishment.

McDonough, who last year ran an unsuccessful primary for state assembly against Kevin Byrne, announced she is running for a third term on the Carmel town board despite the lack of Republican endorsement.

The Carmel GOP endorsed incumbent Councilman Frank Lombardi and newcomer Michael Barile with 44 and 34 votes, respectively. McDonough received 32 votes.
