Select chorus students from the Henry H. Wells Middle School traveled to Newark in May to take part in the annual event.
They were joined at the Prudential Center by Brewster High School students, who had participated last year, and teachers and friends.
Young Voices is not a competition, but an all-inclusive program designed to teach second- through eighth-graders about the power of music, its organizers said.
Brewster music teacher Susan Yanarella spent months preparing students for their performance.
The event was attended by thousands of students from all over the tri-state area.
It was conducted by Francisco J. Núñez, founder and artistic director of the Young People’s Chorus of New York City.
“It’s really amazing to see Young Voices thrive in the U.S.,” said the organization’s managing director, Ben Lewis.
“We’ve seen children from all over the world develop a new love of music through this program,” he added.
