As Con Edison crews continue cleaning up from the weekend’s Nor’easter, the Yorktown School District will remain closed on Tuesday as approximately 10,000 in the town are still without power.

Yorktown Schools Superintendent Ron Hattar announced on Monday afternoon that “due to the continued power outage in most (Yorktown) schools, a hazardous utility condition outside of Crompond School and concern about safety at bus stops,” all Yorktown schools will be closed on Tuesday, March 6.

Hattar said that the announcement will be followed with an email on Monday night updating students, staff and parents to “share additional information about the remainder of the week.”
