"I am proud to have been able to deliver this important grant to the Brewster School District," Murphy said. "These mats will help Brewster expand its wrestling program, giving kids another athletic avenue to pursue."

Brewster Athletic Director Dean Berardo said, "Upgrading this facility not only repurposes this space but, more importantly, it helps motivate the kids."

Brewster High School wrestling coach Tom Looby said, "Before this grant, we were not using the entire room because we didn't have the wall to wall matting. This setup now lets (us) have the space to wrestle live, host scrimmages and practice more efficiently."

On Dec. 30, Brewster will host the 2015 JV Invitational. With the upgrades to the wrestling room, the tournament will be expanded with athletes from across the Hudson Valley.
