Jon graduated from Cornell University and received his master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University. Across a 35-year career, he's worked as a reporter for daily newspapers in Chicago, New York, Ohio & Washington, D.C and as managing editor for weekly newspapers in Rye, White Plains and Harrison.

Camden County, State Launch Initiative To Reduce Fatal Crashes On White Horse Pike The Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Jersey Attorney General are set to launch a traffic safety initiative to cut down on crashes and improve pedestrian safety along the White Horse Pike.  Last year, there were seven fatal crashes on the state highway. These crashes resulted in eight deaths with five being pedestrians and one being a bicyclist, the county said. According to the New Jersey Department of Transportation, there have been 11,251 crashes on the White Horse Pike since 2010. Of these crashes, 3,894 caused injuries and 80 were fatal. Teens Who Tried Carjacking Bentley In Edison Arrested Two of three suspects in an attempted carjacking in Edison have been arrested, authorities said. Edison Mayor Sam Joshi said that a 16-year-old and 17-year-old had been arrested. The mayor thanked local police as well as NJ Transit and Rahway police. The attempted carjacking of a Bentley SUV occurred outside Patel Brothers grocery store on Oak Tree Road at about 5 p.m. on Friday, March 15. The driver had the key fob in his pocket, so the teens were unable to steal the SUV.

Lee was fatally shot on March 9 at the Asselta Acres Apartments, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae. Jamin Carney, 28, of Millville and Chavez Mills, 26, of Vineland, were both charged on March 14, she said. Carney was charged with murder and conspiracy. Trenton Police ID Victim Of Fatal Stabbing In Abandoned Apartment Authorities have identified the Trenton man stabbed to death in an abandoned apartment. Donnell Jenkins, 52, was killed in the Tuesday, March 19 attack, according to the Mercer County Prosecuror's Office. At approximately 2:40 a.m., Trenton police responded to a call at the Kingsbury Square low-rise apartments, the prosecutor said. Justin Villafane made statements about “wishing to harm himself” before fleeing his home on Wednesday, March 20, Vineland police said. Villafane was described as Hispanic, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and black pants, police said.
