DWI Arrests Pile Up In Fair Lawn After BMW Crash, Slumped Driver, Hit-Run: Cops
Three people were charged with driving while intoxicated in Fair Lawn in recent weeks, police said.
On Friday, March 27, around 1:37 a.m., Patrol Officer Matthew Hearon responded to a crash on Route 208 North at Berdan Avenue. There, he arrested Kenneth R. Gibbs, 48, of Glen Rock after a roadside sobriety test, police said.
According to Fair Lawn police, Gibbs had been operating a 2023 BMW and struck the rear of a 2013 Volkswagen being driven by a 35-year-old man from Sacramento, CA. The driver complained of pain but refused medical attention.

A Florida woman accused of stealing more than $6,700 from a Glen Rock business has fled to Africa and remains a fugitive, authorities said.
A three-month investigation led by Glen Rock Detective Sgt. James Calaski uncovered evidence identifying Glenda Mensah, 45, formerly of Mount Dora, FL, as the suspect in a fraudulent bank transfer of $6,741.21, police said.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Mensah, charging her with third-degree theft, police said.

Two New York men wanted in separate violent crimes were tracked down last month in Bergen County, thanks to the county's newly-launched Crime Suppression Team, authorities said.
The first arrest was made on Saturday, Dec. 21, when members of the team identified 51-year-old Randolph R. Smith of Far Rockaway, NY, who was wanted in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in New York City, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. A 70-year-old man has been arrested in the attack of a crossing guard in Glen Rock, officials said.
Daniel Miller, of Glen Rock, was identified by police as the driver of a red 2011 Chrysler 200 who honked, yelled, and then slowly drove towards the crossing guard stationed at Rock Road and Maple Avenue around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said on Monday, Dec. 9.
