Two people were taken to a hospital on Thursday, May 15, after a suspicious package was sent to a New Canaan business, and hundreds more must now go through a decontamination process, according to a new report.
Calls reporting a suspicious package at Becton, Dickinson and Company, a medical technology company in North Canaan, sparked a major response from local responders, state health officials, the FBI, and other federal agencies, NBC Connecticut reported.

A Connecticut man who tried to kidnap, drown, and sexually assault a 20-year-old woman in broad daylight has been sentenced to 25 years in prison, prosecutors announced.
Mynor Romeo Alvarado-Canahui, 36, of Norwalk, pleaded guilty to attempted murder, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree assault, and attempted first-degree sexual assault in connection to the May 2020 attack that left the victim with a fractured skull, broken vertebrae, and permanent hearing loss, state prosecutors said.
He will also be required to register as a sex offender for life.
