CVS, Newport Mall, Children's Hospital Among North Jersey Locations Exposed To Measles: Njdoh
A resident of Hudson County has been diagnosed with measles, the New Jersey Department of Health announced Tuesday, July 15.
The single confirmed case is not known to be related to the Ocean County measles case reported last week, NJDOH said. New Jersey is not currently experiencing a measles outbreak, which is defined as three or more related cases by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, NJDOH said.
Anyone who visited the following locations, only during the specified dates and times, may have been exposed to measles:

A 15-year-old boy who claimed to be the victim of a drive-by shooting in Elmwood Park accidentally shot himself, authorities now say, and is facing criminal charges.
The shooting happened on Saturday, July 5, around 5:04 p.m. on Donor Avenue, according to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella.
When police arrived, they found the teen with gunshot wounds to his hand and leg. He was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson, treated, and later released.
At first, the teen claimed he was shot in a drive-by, Musella said. But investigators say that wasn’t true.

A Paterson man was killed and four others were injured in a mass shooting in Newark late Monday, June 23, authorities said.
At 11:40 p.m., Newark police responded to 367 6th Ave. and found five individuals struck by gunfire, a spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.
Brandyn Waters, 18, sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was transported to University Hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities said. Four men, 26, 24, and two 19-year-olds were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, authorities said.

Clifton Man With Violent Past Threatens, Stalks Bergen Town's Rec Director: Police
A Clifton man with a violent criminal history was arrested after allegedly threatening a Bergen County recreation director, police said.
Ibrahem O. Elgebaly, 30, was taken into custody by Clifton police on Monday, June 16, on an active warrant out of East Rutherford, according to ERPD Capt. Jeff Yannacone.
Elgebaly is accused of sending threatening messages via Facebook, email, and phone to the East Rutherford Recreation Director, Yannacone said.
