Chicken Waste Spill Causes HazMat Situation Along South Jersey Highway A trailer hauling chicken waste products crashed, spilling its contents all over Route 55 and causing a HazMat situation in Gloucester County on Monday, Feb. 27. The northbound side of the roadway was closed in Deptford from mile marker 59.2 to the Route 42 interchange following the 9 a.m. crash. The roadway had reopened as of 1:45 p.m., but crews were still on scene for cleanup. HazMat crews, the New Jersey State Police, NJDOT, and multiple fire departments were on scene.  Environmental services were notified and were monitoring the incident. No injuries were reported.

Tractor-Trailer Flips, Blocks Exit On I-287 Central Jersey: Njsp A tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 287 in Middlesex County, halting traffic, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 12:35 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 on the I-287 northbound ramp to southbound Exit 2 in Edison, the New Jersey Department of Transportation said. All lanes were closed for a couple of hours, 511nj.org reported. The interstate's exit ramp to Route 27 was expected to remain closed until at least 6:30 p.m. for the truck's removal and cleanup, according to a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police.
