I-95 Crash: 5-Mile Delays Reported In Prince William County A crash closed the northbound lanes of I-95 in Prince William County on Monday, May 13. The crash happened in Dumfries, near the cemetery, causing five miles of delays as of 1:20 p.m., MATOC reports. The north left shoulder and left lane were closed.

12-Year-Old Driver Sends Car Off I-495 In Fairfax County: State Police A 12-year-old driver was hospitalized after sending a vehicle off the side of I-495 in Fairfax County early Monday, May 13, authorities said. The child was heading south in the express lanes near Gallows Road near Merrifield when they ran off the road and came to rest on the shoulder around 5:05 a.m., Virginia State Police said. The out-of-state tween suffered minor injuries and was taken to Fairfax Inova Hospital for treatment. State police were able to make contact with the juvenile's parents. No charges were placed. Heavy backups were reported following the incident.

Young Black Bear Roams Arlington Arlington residents have been reporting multiple sightings of a young black bear roaming neighborhoods Monday morning, May 13. The Animal Welfare League of Arlington said it was made aware of "several" reported sightings of the juvenile black bear. Woodbridge Motorcyclist, 32, Killed In Fairfax County Crash A 32-year-old motorcycle was killed in a Fairfax County crash over the weekend, police said. Cornell Parish III, of Woodbridge, crashed on Rolling Road near Delong Drive in Newington while riding his 2003 Honda 1300 just before 5:20 a.m. Sunday, May 12, county police said. Woman Shoots Herself Trying To Reinsert Magazine Into Gun, Philadelphia Police Said A 40-year-old woman was hospitalized after accidentally shooting herself in the chest early Sunday, May 12 in Philadelphia, police said. Police were called to the 1900 block of N. Croskey Street around 12:55 a.m., where the woman had suffered gunshot wounds to her chest before being taken to Temple University Hospital in a private vehicle, police said. NJ State Trooper Who Died During Training Leaves Behind Wife, Daughter (Service Details) Arrangements have been finalized for New Jersey State Police Trooper II Marcellus E. Bethea, who died during training last week. Bethea, 33, had been training to join the TEAMS Unit, an emergency response unit "prepared to handle extra ordinary police emergencies," the NJSP website says. He died on Sunday, May 5. Gov.
