An Orange County middle school student was killed after being struck by a stray bullet during a weekend shooting in the Bronx, leaving his school community mourning the loss.
Jacob Freytes, also known as "Kai," a 12-year-old student at Valley Central Middle School in Montgomery, died on Saturday, July 25, after being shot during a shooting in the Mount Eden section of the Bronx, CBS News reported.

Westchester County is cracking down on vaping products disguised as everyday items, approving a new law aimed at keeping deceptive nicotine devices out of the hands of children.

Historic Sailboat Sinks At Dock In Westchester County
A historic, nearly 90-year-old sailboat sank at its dock in Westchester County, spilling a small amount of fuel.
The vessel, built in 1938, went down on Tuesday morning, July 28, while moored in its slip at the dock on Harbor Lane on Neptune Island, New Rochelle Fire Chief Joseph Sinatra told Daily Voice.
The sinking released an estimated 5 to 10 gallons of fuel into the water, Sinatra said.
