More Than 4,000 Books For Sale At Kent Library KENT, N.Y. -- The Friends of Kent Library will be extending their annual book sale this year with a Bargain Bag Day and an Election Day special. The sale is set for 12 noon - 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4 and from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Kent Library, 17 Sybil's Crossing, Kent Lakes. From 10 a.m. – 12 noon on Friday, there will be a $10 “early bird preview” admission fee. Gala Supports Putnam Hospital Breast Center CARMEL, N.Y. --  One of the guests at the annual Foundation for Putnam Hospital Center gala Oct. 22 was so moved after listening to a presentation that he donated $100,000. Anthony Rutledge made the impromptu donation following a short video shown about the hospital Breast Center's journey to accreditation. Rutledge, formerly of Carmel, told how his wife is a breast cancer survivor who was treated at Putnam Hospital Center.  “Congratulations and thank you for all of your great work. Walks were also held in Montgomery, Pomona and on the Walkway Over the Hudson between Highland and Poughkeepsie.
