Child, 13, Arrested After Shots Fired In Hudson Valley Neighborhood
A 13-year-old was arrested in connection with a shots-fired incident earlier this month in Orange County, police announced.
The investigation leading to the child's arrest began at around 3:14 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, when officers responded to the area of Liberty Street and South Street in the City of Newburgh following reports of gunfire, the City of Newburgh Police Department said in an announcement on Friday, July 24.

NFL Coach's Son Arrested For Shooting Wife At Family Home, Officials Say
The son of an NFL coach has been arrested for a shooting at the family home in Virginia, Daily Voice has learned.
Eric Bieniemy's wife, Mia Bieniemy, 57, was reportedly shot by their son Elijah Zion Bieniemy, 27, on Sunday, July 26, in the 20000 block of Northpark Drive, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office and ESPN. Eric Bieniemy is the Kansas City Chiefs' offensive coordinator.
Deputies were called shortly after 7:30 p.m. on July 26 to the home, where there were reports of gunshot wounds. One woman was treated and rushed to an area hospital.

Strip-Searched And Fired: State Police Recruit Claims Mistreatment, Teases Lawsuit
A New York State Police recruit says she was partially strip-searched by superiors during her time at the agency’s academy, according to a new report.
Daiana Doran, 34, had been accused of concealing an Apple Watch while she was attending the academy’s 28-week training course, the Albany Times-Union reported Sunday, July 26.
Doran filed a notice of claim, a typical precursor to a lawsuit, in which she detailed the experience, according to the Times-Union. The search began with troopers tossing her dorm room but coming up empty in the search for the watch, according to the notice of claim.

Racist, Antisemitic Graffiti Found At Park In Irvington — Police Investigating
Village officials are condemning antisemitic and racist graffiti discovered at a public park in Westchester County as police work to identify those responsible.
The graffiti was found near Halsey Pond in Irvington, Mayor Jon Siegel, the Village Board of Trustees, and Irvington Police Chief Anthony Trifiletti announced on Saturday, July 25.
Officials described it as "anti-Black, antisemitic, and racist."

A 37-year-old man has been convicted on multiple charges years after prosecutors said he violently resisted arrest and damaged a patrol vehicle during a 2022 incident outside a Westchester County liquor store before later fighting officers in a courthouse.

A trip to one of the Caribbean’s most celebrated shorelines has turned into a mystery with a family waiting for answers.
Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell, 44, of Cary, North Carolina, was last seen at Grand Anse Beach in St. George’s, Grenada, on Wednesday, July 22, according to the Royal Grenada Police Force.
Police issued the missing-person alert on Thursday, July 23.
