Search Continues For Missing Kayaker In Raritan Bay The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a missing kayaker in Raritan Bay off Keyport. Zhenjing Ding is 74 years old. He is 5’6” tall and weighs 140 to 160 pounds. Coast Guard Sector New York command center watchstanders received a report Monday, Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m. from Keyport police that Ding’s kayak was found. It was near Cedar Street Park in Keyport Harbor along with personal belongings, and no sight of him in the area. Kayaker Rescued After Suffering Medical Emergency At Long Island Lake A 59-year-old man is recovering after being rescued from a Long Island lake during a kayaking outing. Emergency crews were called at around 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, for a kayaker in distress at Lake Ronkonkoma, according to Suffolk County Police. The man suffered a medical emergency and his kayak began taking on water, prompting someone on shore to call 911, police said. Four members of the Suffolk County Police Department swam out to the man and brought him to shore. He was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was in stable condition.
