A Virginia doctor who called himself an “Addiction Medicine Family Doctor” is paying the price after prosecutors say he ran an opioid pill mill that left multiple patients dead.
David Allingham, 65, of Oakton, was sentenced to 13 years in prison in May and has now been ordered to forfeit more than $168,000, along with two properties, federal prosecutors in Alexandria announced.
He must also pay $169,244 in restitution to three victims.

A 46-year-old Millville man was arrested and charged on Wednesday, June 11, after he was discovered to be manufacturing drugs out of his home, authorities said.
Bruce Low, who was charged last year with running a dog fighting ring, was hit with numerous drug offenses after he was found to be in possession of large amounts of opioids, morphine and other drug paraphernalia, Attorney General Matthew Platkin said.

Lisa Tarr, 33, of St. Petersburg, Fla., was sentenced to five years of probation, with the first year being spent in home detention, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. Jon Suggs and Nickolas Passineau, both 31, were each convicted of robbery and using a firearm in the commission of a crime, said US Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero in a statement Tuesday, Dec. 13.
