Coatesville Dad, Firefighter Killed In Cumberland County Crash On PA Turnpike
A Coatesville man was killed after the truck he was driving overturned along the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Cumberland County, authorities announced.
Mark A. Moses, 49, was heading eastbound when he lost control for unknown reasons at mile marker 233.7 in Monroe Township around 4:30 a.m. on Monday, April 21, Pennsylvania State Police explained in a release.
The truck veered off the highway, struck a guardrail several times, and continued up an embankment for about 100 feet before returning to the roadway, overturning, and landing on its roof, according to troopers.

Southern State Triple Fatal: Driver High On Marijuana Sentenced For Causing Farmingdale Crash
A 29-year-old man who was high on marijuana and driving nearly 100 miles per hour when he caused a triple-fatal crash on the Southern State Parkway will spend years behind bars.
Matthew Whyte, of Queens, was sentenced to between 4 ½ and 13 ½ years in prison in Nassau County Court on Thursday, April 24.
It followed his guilty plea to aggravated vehicular homicide for the Nov. 5, 2022, collision that killed Ciara Hare, 18, Florence Oprisan, 18, Jean Marc Miller, 22.

Pedestrian Struck, Killed Crossing Major Roadway In Manorville
A pedestrian was struck and killed while attempting to cross a busy Long Island roadway.
The incident happened in Manorville, on Route 111 north of Chapman Boulevard, at around 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 23.
Thomas Regan, 64, was crossing Route 111 when he was struck by a Porsche heading northbound, Suffolk County Police said. Regan, of Manorville, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Porsche driver, a 58-year-old East Hampton man, was not injured and remained at the scene.

Pedestrian Killed In Mustang Crash On Sunrise Highway In Blue Point: Suffolk County Police
A pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a Mustang on Sunrise Highway in Bluepoint, Suffolk County Police announced on Sunday, April 20.
Carlos Villafane, 69, of Mastic Beach, was standing in the center lane of the eastbound Sunrise Highway, west of Waverly Avenue, when he was hit around 8:35 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, police said.
Adam Polis, 36, of Patchogue, was driving a 2015 Ford Mustang in the left lane when he saw three people in the roadway. He swerved right to avoid them but struck Villafane, according to the police.
