The sudden death of a 43-year-old school employee and father is spreading shockwaves through Fairfax County.
Matt Rice, of Fairax, died unexpectedly on May 18, 2024, according to his obituary on the Fairfax Memorial Home website.

Driver, 30, Dies, 6-Year-Old Front Seat Passenger Critical In Fauquier County Crash
A 30-year-old man died and his 6-year-old front seat front seat passenger seriously hurt in a Fauquier County crash over the weekend, police said.
Joshua A Farmer, of Amissville, was airlifted to INOVA Fairfax after rear-ending a Freightliner tractor-trailer that was stopped at a red light in a 2017 Honda Accord, just before 6 p.m. on Route 29 (Lee Highway) on Sunday, May 19, Virginia State Police said.
Farmer was not wearing a seatbelt. A 6-year-old girl in the front seat was not in a proper child restraint device, police said. She was taken to Fauquier Health for treatment.
