New Hamburg Road Bridge Work In Wappinger To Begin Commuters should be prepared for delays and alternate lane traffic on New Hamburg Road as work begins Monday, March 6 to rebuild the Wappinger Creek bridge. The Dutchess County Department of Public Works said the bridge, which services the New Hamburg train station, is in need of repair due to the condition of the bridge deck and portions of steel elements.  The construction will be completed in two phases, allowing for the continued flow of traffic using a one-lane alternating traffic pattern controlled by a temporary traffic signal, officials said. While winter weather was pounding the East Coast, dropping nearly a foot of snow on most of the Hudson Valley, Stella, a female hound, was spotted on the Taconic State Parkway, in the area of Pudding Street in Putnam Valley without her owners.
