Peekskill Musician Takes Listeners Around The World On New Album
PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- To listen to Daisy Jopling's new CD, you might need your passport.
Jopling, a Peekskill violinist who grew up in England, released "Awakening," on Friday, her first CD of original compositions from Fleur de Sons Classics. The album spans the world of music featuring spirituals, pop, reggae, funk, Irish folk, and even Argentine tango. She performed the album live last September at Paramount Hudson Valley.
Though Jopling is known for her violin, listeners can expect to hear a string orchestra and even a beatbox.

A Westchester couple got the best Christmas present they could've hoped for Thursday.
Lindsay Baker of Somers and boyfriend Jonathon Daniels of Peekskill (both Somers High grads) are huge country music fans, and had tickets to see country star Blake Shelton in September. The tickets were to celebrate Lindsay's 23rd birthday.
A week prior to the concert, Daniels was badly injured in a motorcycle accident, and suffered two collapsed lungs, one punctured lung, brain bleeding, a lacerated liver, kidney, and spleen, as well as injuries to his neck, back and shoulders.

LAGRANGEVILLE, .N.Y. -- For Katelyn Bronzi, whose brother has autism, her only birthday wish was to have a family night out for dinner.
Because of her brother Stevie's autism, the family, which lives in Lagrangeville, had never been able to go to a restaurant before.
